Leatherman 831426 Wingman Multi-Tool

Leatherman 831426 Wingman Multi-Tool

Made of stainless steel, Leatherman 831426 Wingman Multi-Tool comprises of 420HCCombo Knife, Spring-action Reguar Pliers, Spring-action Needlenose Pliers and Spring-action Wire Cutters. The product can be used as a wire stripper, small screwdriver, medium screwdriver and Phillips screwdriver. Besides acting as spring-action scissors, it can be used as wood/metal file, bottle opener and can opener. With warranty of 25 years, sheath is not included in this product.

Customers have commented that the product is very well made, durable and come with excellent craftsmanship. The multitool is noted to be very handy with all the needed tools for everyday tasks around home and office. The attached plier is spring loaded and a beefy knife is included as well. However, users should be careful about the knife locking mechanism and avoid accidental closing when placing the thumb. Some feedback reveals that the wire cutter is unusable due to the lack of overlap between the cutters. While the blades are quite sharp, it is observed that there is some ‘side-to-side play’ in the spring-action pliers. The product rides well on the pocket despite being slightly heavy. However, the knife blade was noted to be thin and the all-metal sides do not have grip grooves, so it may slide easily for sweaty hands. The Philip screwdriver grooves are observed to be small from user experience.

Gerber 01471 Suspension Butterfly Opening Multi-Plier with Sheath

Gerber 01471 Suspension Butterfly Opening Multi-Plier with Sheath is a suspension multi-plier multitool with 12 integrated components. With lightweight open-frame stainless steel handle, the multitool is equipped with Saf. T. Plus component locking system. Weighing at around 9.6 oz and with closed length of 4 inches, it comes with a ballistic nylon sheath and is given limited lifetime warranty. Offering 11 convenient tools, the multitool is made up of durable stainless steel construction with aluminum butterfly-opening handle.

Users have found the multitool to be solidly built and strong, the attached plier is sturdy and the curve of the handle makes the grip comfortable. However, the plier may not work well with small hands because the handles span 2 ¾ inches even when fully closed. The scissors is probably the worst part of the tool due to its small bite and the overly strong spring-loading, causing it to be difficult to close. Some observed that the design of the multitool makes it too bulky and heavy for pocket carrying.

Swiss+Tech ST53100 Micro-Max 19-in-1 Key Ring Multi-Function Pocket Tool

Swiss+Tech ST53100 Micro-Max 19-in-1 Key Ring Multi-Function Pocket Tool

Swiss+Tech ST53100 Micro-Max 19-in-1 Key Ring Multi-Function Pocket Tool comprises of 2 hex wrenches (1/4’’,7/16’’)and six screwdrivers (#0,1,1,flat,#0,1,2,Phillps). It also acts as pliers, bottle opener, wire cutter and stripper as well as wire crimper. The multitool can also be used as hand drill, file, 2 rulters (mm and inch) and 2 ruler extensions (mm and inch). With limited lifetime warranty, the keychain multitool is a good choice as gifts.

Users commented that the product is a very compact tool made of solid iron and a good quality of polish, offering a great handy tool for convenience. The folding design makes it possible for it to be carried in pant pockets or computer case. However, a number of users complained that the metal is visibly coarse and pitted. The individual arms grind against each other and their axis of rotation unpleasantly. Compromises may have been made in place of the high portability as a keychain; all the fitted tools are thin and therefore flimsy to be useful in practice.
